Great Show!

Let me state first, I am not a Ballet person, and I went because my date asked to go...that being said, I actually really had a great time. I could tell from the beginning, the way the crowd came in buzzed with excitment that it would be an interesting performance. It was! Though not educated in Ballet, I could find nothing out of synch, and after awhile I actually forgot I was watching a show and got lost in the story. I have been to other performance of the Nutcracker, and really didn't like them...the music yes, but I had thought ballet was not my cup of tea...well either I have grown older and wiser, or these performers were great...I think the second. Why not 5 stars? I'm sorry, I wish there had been live music, it would have made it into one of those life long memories.

Needed a more considerate audience

This was a nice performance for a local ballet troupe. Unfortunately, the family sitting in front of us behaved like they were doing game night at home. The man repeatedly took out his phone to check emails. He got a candy bar at intermission but did not open it until the second act started, crackling paper all the way. He encouraged his young daughter to yell "bravo" any time someone applauded. That encouraged the little girl to go on sprees of applause and "bravos" all by herself. The man allowed their young son to stand whenever he wanted, obstructing the view of people behind him. The mom would occasionally tell the little girl to "shhh" but was generally oblivious to everything. They badly need a course in how to act in public!
